Autumn issue of FREE ACCESS #43

I figured last week(from Easter Monday) it must be time to hear from you re a new copy of FREE ACCESS. I checked my Harvey Norman store at Southland, Cheltenham, Victoria on each visit including Thu & Fri last week when I was shopping at Kmart a in that small area of the large centre. There was no sign of it. I got an e-mail from you on Friday evening and could not get down there until Monday April 24. The two girls on the counter just inside the door toild me they had maybe a 100 copies and they just “dumped” on the counter(I did not see them) last Thursday/Friday and being FREE they just went!!!
I went up the travelator to the thrird level to the computer department of Dick Smith Superstore where I have also got the magazine and spoke to a young man there but although he said he had not heard of it he took my request to search out the back as I told him that the last time I had come to get one there they found an unopened box there in storage which would have remained there if I had not asked. He came back empty handed and a colleague in the separtment was asked about it. He said he had heard of FREE ACCESS but what is it. I told him that it gave How To’s, Software & Equipment reviews & Customer Questions. He said was that(the last item, I mentioned) like Q&A’s and I said Yes. No, he said we don’t have it. Probably goes to Head Office and they just didn’t ship it to us!!! The upshot is that I did not get this Issue 43 of FREE ACCESS. There is certainly something wrong here with the both stores’ attitude to the puiblication.

Yes, it’s true that the magazines do get distributed quickly. We send out more than 20,000 copies to Harvey Norman store, but with there being so many store, many just get 100 copies.
With DSE, we deliver it to a central warehouse so it may be that it is still on its way to the store. Can I suggest you give them a call at the end of the week.

Equally, I haven’t seen any copies at Grace Bros Hurstville as yet. They often come out a little late, so I’m not too concerned, but I agree that timing is an issue.
One other thing of note is that these “leave a reply” fields at the bottom display text in German i.e. “benötigt / nicht sichtbar”
