It’s called “PS Trixi”, and last night I went to a very snazzy launch function/party to celebrate the impending start of this online and offline interactive adventure. The outside of the venue had projectors with a video image of Trixi herself welcoming us to the event. Inside came a presentation introducing us to the entire PS Trixi concept and what to expect over the next few weeks!
However I’m home now, and the press release came through a while ago, and as it explains the entire concept so well, I’m going to republish bits of it here. This post is quite long, but it’s quite an intersting concept, and I’m sure some of you out there will appreciate knowing more… especially as the web site www.trixi.com.au only has a teaser intro video – which has a ‘typed’ text message for you to read! There is no link to the entire press release at the Yahoo7! site as I write this blog, but there’ll likely be one in the morning and I’ll post a link to it there.
You should also be able to view a preview video of PS Trixi at http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/scp_v3/viewer/index.p… - click the link and it will bring up Yahoo Video and should start playing shortly. The release said it would be up on August 24, but as I type it’s not there yet. Still, it’s kinda technically Wednesday evening as I type so I’m sure it’ll be there when you click!
So, if you’re still reading, what is PS Trixi all about? Yahoo!7 are calling it “A New Online Interactive Drama For Australia’s Internet Generation” that is an edgy alternate reality experience from the pens of acclaimed Australian writers Deborah Cox and Marissa Cooke.
They say that they are “introducing an exciting new form of online entertainment offering twists, turns, thrills and spills for Australian internet users. A cross between an online drama and an interactive game, PS Trixi comprises over 2000 pages of content, 140 webcam videos, 22 games, 1000 emails and 30 podcasts”.
The PS Trixi experience will also leverage Channel 7′s TV programs, including Home and Away, while Pacific Magazines, part of the Channel 7 media group, will be publishing information and extra parts of the game in ‘Famous’ magazine, along with the Yahoo7! search engine and other Yahoo web properties.
Yahoo7! says that “the drama blurs the lines between reality and fiction by integrating a number of Yahoo!7 online properties, with fans able to access parts of the storyline and get the latest clues via Search, Music, blogging site 360° and photo sharing property, www.Flickr.com.
No doubt we’ll be hearing more about this in the media very soon. I look forward to experiencing what PS Trixi is all about!
See you in the next post…
