Sydney TechEd update

Yesterday was the start of the main Tech Ed sessions, but it actually started on Monday with events for students, deep sessions and a host of other activities before ‘the main event’ with yesterday morning’s keynote.

Unfortunately there was a lot of stuff on yesterday which I’ll get to in a moment, so I didn’t get a chance to go!

However… we live in a digital age… there must be some information online on what I missed. Of course, I’ll certainly be attending sessions over the next two days, but I found Frank Arrigo’s blog http://blogs.msdn.com/frankarr/ with some very interesting information and even links to the start of what should become a library of vodcasts and podcasts very soon. Currently there are 3 videos to look at, and there might be more by the time you read this. As I missed the keynote, I’m hoping that it was recorded and will soon be placed online, too. I’ll find out tomorrow and let you know!

Frank is a well known and devoted Microsoftee, having started there in 1991 as a System Engineer, and has had many roles over the years. He’s now working with the Developer, Academic and IT Professional communities, no doubt helping them get the most out of Microsoft’s existing and upcoming technologies. He’s also a friend, so I’m sure he was wondering where I was yesterday! :-) I’ll explain all in person today.

Anyway it was no surprise to find all kinds of great information at his site, from wireless security through to a cool pic of a mini Dalek at the bottom of the page. You can also take a peek into some of the behind-the-scenes action in the lead up to Tech Ed 2006. :-)
