Free video converter for iPod

Got an iPod Video, and want to transfer some of your existing video collection onto it? There are many programs available to do this, but today I came across a free one creatively titled the ‘Free iPod Video Converter’. Even the web address is easy to remember… http://www.ipod-video-converter.org/. They have other converters too, for converting WMA (Windows Media Audio) or RM (Real Media) files to mp3s and a DVD mp3 ripper which captures the audio from video files as mp3s, but I downloaded this one, gave it a go, found that it works as advertised. You can change the quality settings as well, so if you play video clips back on a TV set, instead of your iPod screen, they’ll look much better than they do at the lower quality settings which still look good on the iPod’s smaller 2.5-inch screen. The only downside to choosing higher quality settings is that the resulting file will be larger, taking up more space on your iPod.

They promise there’s no spyware, malware or trojans within, so I did a quick search through Google but found no references to this being ‘bad’ software… so it seems to be legit. If you’ve got an iPod Video, it’s worth giving a go.
