The fully electric sportscar is here at last

Tesla Motors, clearly taking its name from renowned genius Nikola Tesla, have developed a fully electric sports car.

It’s so popular that the first run of 100 cars, priced at US $100,000 each, has already sold out. The car can travel from 0 to 100 Kmph in only four seconds, thanks to the power of the rechargeable lithium ion batteries. There are far fewer parts in an electric car as there is no need for spark plugs, starter motors, radiators, water pumps and other parts that any mechanic is familiar with. And the cost of charging the car from your regular power source? Around 0.5c per kilometre. Let’s hope this car rapidly gains in popularity and many more models become available. Let’s also hope other car companies take note and emulate Tesla Motors. The more renewable and electric energies we have at our disposal, the better it will be for us all - and the planet!
