Beware the MySpace phishing attack
Oct 14th, 2006 | By Staff Writers | Category: InternetCriminals are using the MySpace brand name in emails to hundreds of thousands of computer users in an attempt to get them to reveal their credit card details, according to a report in SC magazine.
The fake emails try to entice recipients to purchase online music from a sham online music store.
I haven’t seen the email myself, but if you have, please post it as a comment.
My general advice is to avoid visiting web sites from links in unsolicited emails. It’s very dangerous, and sometimes the criminals create very real-looking fake emails and web sites in order to convince you that it’s a legitimate web site.
