Peaceful launch for Nintendo Wii in the US

Why are car manufacturers wasting time and energy with hydrogen powered cars when they should be putting their efforts into electic motors? With hydrogen taking more energy to produce than it delivers, why the ridiculous distraction from creating clean electric cars with hundreds fewer parts than combustion engines? Forget about a hydrogen car, you’ll never be driving one.

Waiting for Halo 3 on Xbox 360? Keep on waiting

US TV recording box ‘TiVo’ brings web video to TVs

In the US, a box called the TiVo lets you record TV shows direct to the TiVo’s hard drive, and select the shows you want from an EPG, or electronic program guide. Foxtel has one of these, and a TiVo like box, but otherwise the main TV stations in Australia still don’t support a public EPG. Is that why there are no TiVo’s in Australia?

Japan gets 400,000 Wii’s after the US, world to follow

While Nintendo promises the largest number of launch Wii’s will end up in the Americas, exact numbers aren’t available. Still, 400,000 will be on sale in Japan on December 2, with the US getting them two weeks earlier this Sunday on Nobember 19.

Microsoft mistakenly claimed Gmail contained virus

In a bit of an oopsie daisie, Microsoft’s OneCare anti-virus and Internet Security service claimed that Google’s Gmail contained a virus. It’s yet another false positive by protective software – will we ever be rid of the false positive syndrome?
