Has CERN pushed us all into a parallel universe? Nobel prize in gold please

Mad Scientists (as in unhappy scientists) around the world have been burning magnesium strips and heating up lead so it turns into a liquid after scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research found that neutrinos can travel faster than light, casting into doubt Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity.

First up I say nothing about understanding quantum physics, but having just read a book about parallel universes (The Hidden Reality by Brian Greene) I am an armchair expert in reading books about parallel universes.

iPhone 4 case review – iBottleopener–not just a gimmick

iBottleopener - iPhone4 caseYes, clearly the iBottleopener is a cynical attempt to cash in on the popularity of the iPhone 4, and the popularity of beer drinking in general. That aside, it is actually really cool, and really well made.

What is HDR on the iPhone 4 cameraIt’s no secret that I love the iPhone 4, and the much improved digital camera, but being one of those people who don’t read instructions, it was only after I’d been using the iPhone 4 for several weeks that I started to wonder about the HDR button that appeared when I took photographs.

Here’s how to get rid of those “waiting” apps.

How to sync your iPhone with Outlook

How to sync your iPhone with OutlookFunnily, it was only when I upgraded to my iPhone 4 that I realised I had never synced my iPhone 3GS with my PC’s Outlook. When I’d synced my iPhone with iTunes I’d never noticed any obvious option to do this, and automatically assumed that because iPhones came from the Mac world, that syncing them with Microsoft products was really hard work. Thankfully, I was completely wrong. It’s a piece of cake. Link your iPhone to your PC using the supplied iPhone-to-USB cable. iTunes should appear on your screen.

Book review: Internet for Dummies Australian Edition

Book review: Internet for Dummies Australian Edition Did you know that the term “spam”, as in unwanted email, comes from a Monty Python skit where a group of Vikings sing the word spam over and over in order to drown out everyone else around them. Well I didn’t know this piece of trivia until I started reading Internet for Dummies Australian Edition – though the book does contain a lot of useful information and not just trivia.
