Book review: Internet for Dummies Australian Edition
Did you know that the term “spam”, as in unwanted email, comes from a Monty Python skit where a group of Vikings sing the word spam over and over in order to drown out everyone else around them. Well I didn’t know this piece of trivia until I started reading Internet for Dummies Australian Edition – though the book does contain a lot of useful information and not just trivia.

OPEL and FTTN processes tanking; Australia may be in technological limbo
Australia has been watching the OPEL and FTTN network processes with baited breathe over the last few months and the process for each network hits various roadblocks and obstacles. Now the two ideas are in real trouble. If OPEL and FTTN both fall by the wayside, Australia could be left in a vast wasteland of technological limbo.

Dojo Monkey crosses platforms
A show based out of Queensland called Dojo Monkey has become the first Australian show to go completely cross platform. The animated show is based on a character named Dojo Money. Dojo Monkey got his start as the ninja monkey in a video game, but the creator immediately saw the potential for a show and the ability to make that work on multiple platforms.

Judge rules against company installing spyware and adware
The owner of TeamTaylorMade.com web site, Timothy P Taylor, was ordered to pay back the profits he made from the venture. His web site tricked visitors into installing spyware and adware onto their machines in the guise of free videos and free screen savers. Taylor will be returning $4595.36 USD, a paltry sum compared other recent legal news, like the sentencing of two software pirates.

Wii Love The Queen
